Started in 1993, Spiritual Guides was established to publish travel books on India, Nepal and Southeast Asia, and books on spiritual and alternative subject matters. Spiritual Guides specializes just on these subjects in order to do the best job possible.

John Howley
John Howley (Jada Bharata), the author, was born in the USA. He studied to be an accountant at both Drexel and Rutgers Universities. He became a member of ISKCON, to study the Vedic (Indian) scriptures and to learn about the culture of India. He studied the Vedic scriptures for over twenty years reading the Srimad Bhagavatam nine times and many of the other Vedic scriptures numerous times.

He first went to India in 1981 for three weeks as part of a package tour. Since then he has been to India twelve more times, spending over eight years in India and Nepal. He now resides full time in India in Vrindavan, 150km southeast of Delhi, and spends four months a year traveling around India.
